‘Message in a Bottle’ is a voluntary scheme for anyone living at home who would be re-assured to know that essential information is readily available to the emergency services if they were to suffer an accident or sudden illness.
The bottle you will receive
The scheme can provide the emergency services with vital information of any illness or allergy, and someone to contact if they are called to your home. A pilot scheme has been successfully run in the South West of the city and similar schemes are operating in other parts of the country.
City of Sheffields Lion Club are working with the support of the City Council and emergency services to deliver the scheme across the city.
Anyone interested in the scheme can ask to receive a bottle. The bottles are small containers which you keep in your fridge. Each bottle contains an information sheet. You need to complete this to inform the emergency services of any illness or allergy that you have.
The bottles also contain stickers you can display on your fridge and front doors to show the emergency services that you are part of the scheme.
If you are interested in being part of the scheme and would like to receive more information or bottles to distribute please contact:
